Rick Lingberg - FYI

StoryTelling America is a service of For Your Information (FYI) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  For over 30 years I have been involved with the development and implementation of marketing and technology solutions for businesses and organizations throughout the United States.  I am a business developer, marketing contractor/consultant and a media producer of print, photographic, graphic, audio, video, film and Internet technologies.

However, quite simply I've spent my entire career helping people tell their stories through one media form or another.

Over the years many of the projects that I have developed involved audio or video taping interviews or oral histories.  It has not been uncommon to hear people comment how they wish they had taken the time to record the stories of a favorite relative, friend or neighbor.  When I asked them why they didn't, quite often they would remark that they either didn't have the time, didn't know how, didn't have the equipment, or some other "didn't" reason. However, they always seemed quite regretful that they didn't.

Many years ago, only through the urging of a friend "did" I audiotape a discussion with my then 92 year old grandfather.  I eventually made the interviews into a slide/audio tape presentation that I fortunately converted to video.  I still have "Gramps" today, which can be viewed on this website and I'll be ever grateful to my friend for encouraging me to complete the project.  Today, Gramps would be 121 years old.

I thought maybe it was time to eliminate the reason for "didn'ts" and provide a service that would make it easy and simple to capture the stories that were otherwise going untold and unrecorded for future generations.  So, I've created this service called StoryTelling America.

StoryTelling America is available to Individuals, Couples, Families, as well as Businesses and Organizations to capture on video their Oral Histories and Personal Documentaries.  Samples of which can be seen on this sight by clicking on the menu on the right side of this page.  Finished life stories are available on DVD and will soon be available for viewing world-wide on this website.
